OK, so last night we had a movie night.
No weirdness there I agree.
So after the movie, I flipped the tv to see what was on. Gaither Gospel Hour caught my attention. Sheesh! I never thought I would come to this… Ok, I liked it.
Even stranger, Jacksy was sitting on Nan’s lap and his feet started tapping! I never saw this coming. What is happening? Am I destined to be the guy that changes music styles when he hits late 30’s? Arrrrgh!
Is this common? Somebody help me out here!

Yippee! This has always been a favourite holiday of mine. It is not so inundated with the commercialism of Christmas.
We are having a big ‘ol bunch o’ people over for a family get together and feast. Should be an absolute blast!
So far, I think we have about 20 or so coming
We’re gonna have to borrow a couple of tables and some chairs from the church.

Man, I love our pastor. He is one SOLID preacher. He is unafraid to preach God’s Word for what it is. It is supposed to be brash sometimes. I also love the guy because he is my uncle-in-law but that is beside the point. There have been quite a few Sundays where he has been preaching and I have had the all-too-familiar “is he preaching this specifically for me this morning” feeling.
We have been fortunate lately to be able to start attending our evening service as well on Sundays. The pastor is teaching through Job right now and we are really enjoying it. Even Will said to Nan and I the other day that “Wow, that Job was pretty incredible to be able to handle all that stuff!” Yup, he sure was.
Anyways, I just wanted to brag on my pastor. Love him! He is awesome. I am not putting him on a pedestal. I am simply seeing the man for who he is right now. A loving, caring man who is willing to share God’s truth with me. I need more men like that in my life.
Thanks Pastor Uncle John

I have made some adjustments to the Treo since I got it. Originally I had the data package and was receiving all my emails on the phone. I have to say, it was kind of buggy and did not handle them well at all. The reasoning was that I had 2 email apps running at the same time! Duh! So after fixing that, it worked a lot better.
However, about a month after that, I got to thinking about the validity of me retrieving all my mail on the Treo. It seemed like a really good idea up front but then it became a real spur under my saddle. I was paying a lot of money on a monthly basis for the ability to see what email is downstairs on my desktop. Dumb. So, I cancelled the data package and now have all my emails being text messaged to my phone. I only receive the first 140 characters but it lets me know if it is critical or not. I am generally within 30 minutes of being able to get to my email if need be.
So, now I am really trying to use the unit for my scheduling and phone use and text messaging. So far so good.
There are a few things on the Treo that I do not really use though.
The video camera. I have used it twice that I can think of. The resolution just plain bites.
The camera. I have used it more, but the resolution still just plain bites.
Playing music on my treo. Nah, it isn’t gonna happen. That is what ipods are for.
Things that I do use…
Palm Reader. I love this app. I read almost ALL of my books this way now.
Agendus Pro. This is an overlay for the datebook and contact stuff. It is great. Easily manageable and I can find what I need quickly.
My Bible. This is a program from Laridian and I was able to pick up about 7 different versions of the bible for a total of $50 bucks. Sweet!
There you have it. Not a real technical update but I am enjoying it much more now that I have settled into it….

It has been forever. I know. And I don’t really have an excuse other than I have been busy with work. Not a good excuse I realize, but that is ok. I will make up for it shortly.
