I have been struggling all week with learning pivot tables in excel. For those of you saying..
what the sam hill is that boy jabberin’ about now…
pivot tables are a way to analyze data quickly and efficiently.
That is, if you know how to create and format pivot tables…
Thanks to my good friend Bruce who helped me limp along and put up with my code ID10T questions… Thanks man.
And now, I have to say that I really understand the power of them. They are so cool. I was able to analyze a table of over 10000+ records and view them in a table that was approximately 20-30 rows long. Now THAT is cool
I switched my mail yesterday to a new system. They say that it takes 24-48 hours to push through. It has started. I have gone approximately 10 hours without any email coming through and I feel weird. It has me freaked out because I am considered am I missing something??
Ahhhhh!
I have been having a fair number of issues lately with my email. I have been missing some of them. It has got me a little concerned that I have missed emails that I should have received!!
That is truly frightening considering the fact that the probably half of the communication that I use for the company is email..
So, today I have begun making some changes. I have decided to host my own mail server in the house. I am going to use a mail scrubbing service out of the states that uses redundant servers. 4 to be exact. That makes me feel a lot better. Then it will come to the house. If the server in the house goes down, then the mail will get stored in Texas until I re-initialize the server. Phew.
I am hoping that is solves a lot of our problems. We will see.
So, if you have sent me an email as of late, and I have not responded… Sorry about that. I am workin’ on it.
Where does the time go?
I cannot believe it has been over a week since I posted.
In that week we have taken down an old metal shed, erected a new shed (plastic of some sort), done school, taught piano, worked lots of hours, gone out for dinner at family, been to the driving range twice, been to church twice, spoke at AWANA, did a youth event called Car Tag, drove to St. Thomas and back.
Wow. I did not know we were that busy.
A month and a bit ago, my Mom and my Aunt came down for a visit. It was almost funny watching Aunt Nan. She kept on looking around and saying…
Man! Does it EVER slow down around here?
Nope, it is a busy place. I didn’t think we were that busy either until I sat down to watch the news tonight and thought about all that we do..
Hmmm, is everybody this busy?
Let me know. I would like to know.
We are going to attempt to put a new shed up this weekend. It is a 2 part stage really, emptying and tear down of the old metal shed and then prepping and building of the new plastic shed.
I am looking forward to having more room to store junk! ![]()
Actually, if this works works out, I might just get a bit more room in the basement. Sweet!
It has been a while since we have been on a roadtrip..
Since Christmas really.
I think that the whole family is looking forward to going to my parents this weekend. Should be fun.
We are looking forward to just leaving the house behind and blowing some steam off…
I heard through Aunt Nan last night that Mom already has the meals all planned out for the weekend. Heh heh. That’s my mom. Wouldn’t want us to go without don’t ya know. Yeah, you know…
I purchased more RAM for my laptop last week.
I went from 512 meg to 1.0 gig. It seems to be running much much better.
I was going through the motions of deciding on a new laptop or upgrading. I am glad that I chose the latter. A new one would have cost me an extra $1800 bucks!
Why so much you ask?
Well, as they say…
You get what you pay for…
When you buy a laptop from Dell that is $599.99 do you think you are getting an $1800 laptop. I think not.
No, it is an older model that does not have much processing power and will not suffice for some of the things that I do.
Glad I stuck with the current machine now.
We have an interview with Will’s teacher this morning…
oooohhhh! Pretty scary eh kids?
Nah, stay tuned.
