Posted by DogfishI dunno. I signed up today. More for hooking up with a couple of people I used to work with at camp. Is it a big waste of time?
We shall see….
I did get to talk to Teddy though… That makes it worth it I think.

We have been enjoying going to the driving range as a family this year. Last year, we were able to purchase some kids golf clubs for the boys and they are really enjoying them.
This year, I was able to convince my wife that she would be good at this game so she purchased a set of clubs for herself. You should see her form… it makes me ill how good her form is…
Anyhow, yesterday, Nan wanted to get to the driving range. We decided to go to a new range here in our fine city. It is called Kilaly East Practice Facility. They are just starting out but they have this great deal on. We are part of the Tradebank group and have some barter dollars to use. We can use them here! So, for $150 in trade, we were able to get a family membership for the whole year! Awesome. All 4 of us, as many balls as we want for the whole season.
The range is only 15 minutes from the house so it is very easy to get to.
The range is a little rougher than most but they are just starting out in business. I am sure that it will get better with age.
Right on. You gotta love savin’ money huh?
I am going golfing this afternoon with two old friends. Dan and Bruce.
I was thinking about them this week. I have known them for close to 16-17 years.
They were two fellas I met when I first started attending Forest City Bible Church in my second year of college.
I was able to be involved in both of their weddings.
With the exception of childhood friends I did not really comprehend that I had friends of that length….
Then I thought
C’mon Don, you are approaching 40 y’know…
Yup. gettin’ old my friends.
Anyhow, should be a good day. The guys are getting together to golf at 1 this afternoon and our wives and kids are meeting at the Mischenko’s place (Dan’s).
Once we are done golfing, we will head back there and have a barbecue. It has been a while since all 6 of the adults have been together.
Should be a fun day.
You remember when I spoke to Jackson’s haircut and the mohawk/ponytail?
The boys both wanted to have their hair cut tonight..
Rejoice with me!
They look so much better…

I have been working on a big code project with a client lately.
While they were doing this, they upgraded all of their in-house pc’s and let me keep the old ones provided I wiped off any data and I can give them away.
At first glance, they seem to be around the PIII 800 mark with 89 gig drives and 256-512 megs of RAM.
The issue with giving these things away is that I would need to put operating systems on them and that costs money if I were to use Microsoft.
Enter Linux. I have been tinkering with this for a couple of years now. I will be trying to find people who simply need computers for browsing the net, getting email, and doing normal stuff. There are few games that run on linux other then linux games. These are not gaming machines. They are too slow.
But, they can be VERY usable machines for the average home user.
Let me know if you know someone who might be interested.
Don
I have come to a sad realization in the last week or two.
I am not destined to be a excellent golfer. I might become a mediocre one at some point, but I simply do not have the time nor the resources to put into becoming a good let alone excellent golfer.
William and I and a couple of friends went golfing yesterday and on one hole, Will shot a par. I was very proud of him. He was simply ecstatic.
Maybe he could.. I dunno. I just have to continue to realize that I play the game for enjoyment, not to beat myself up. That is just stupid.
Took me long enough to figure it out.
Last weekend we were involved in Eric and Lindsay’s wedding.
What a great time we had. Lots and lots of fun with family and friends. Nan was an attendant and I was the emcee of the reception. I also had the great honour of officiating part of the wedding.
It was incredible.
Eric and Lindsay are currently in Cuba vacationing and honeymoooning.
We look forward to their return to hear all about their getaway.
I am hoping to post a few pictures in the next few days for you to see as well.
We went last night to see Transformers.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
It has been a LONG time since I enjoyed a movie this much.
I was just a little bit too old to enjoy them as a youth, but I remembered the majority of the characters and I think they did a great job at making an unrealistic concept believable…
Two thumbs up from me!
Optimus Prime rocks!
