on two points actually..
William is definitely feeling better. Jackson has been fine for a couple of days now. Nan is at this point uncertain whether she is sick or not. The next couple of hours should tell all I would think. We really did take it easy yesterday for the most part. Nan went out to breakfast with some friends but after that we were in for the day. We enjoyed a nice relaxing afternoon and evening. The weather was so mild that we decided to barbecue some of our new beef. I will need to thank Eric this morning at church for convincing us to buy it. It was so nice. We got to try out a new game that we were given as a gift this year. Cranium Family Edition. Great game.
On the second front, I purchased an elliptical exerciser a couple of weeks ago.
Here it is snuggled nicely into the basement.
I was able to purchase a small little tv for $70 to help motivate me to stay on it when I am getting my exercise.

I have been slowly making progress on the amount of time I can spend on it. I hate to admit it, but the first day on it was an absolute killer!
I have to say that persistence does pay off!
I am successfully able to go 13 minutes straight on it now!
woo hoo!
That is quite an accomplishment for an old tub o’ lard like meself.
But slow and sure wins the battle.

Last night we had the youth from the church over for a little Christmas shindig…
Good times.
Nan made some of her hot broccoli dip. yum yum yummy….
The youth generally sat around, talked, then decided to watch Home Alone.
What a great Christmas movie.
After they all left, we snuggled into bed only to hear William up being sick again.
Poor kid.
So we will keep socking the Gravol to him today.
Nan is out for breakfast with friends this morning, but she is not feeling all that great.
I wonder if that is from staying up late doing laundry from a sick boy or if it is that she is getting what the sick boy has.
Only time will tell I suppose.
This morning when the boys got up, we sat in the family room and played Tiger Woods on the X-Box.
Too much fun. They are getting so good.
Jacks took the dog out to the backyard this morning after breakfast to play with her. She had an absolute blast running away from him. It is hard to believe, but she can really go! Jackson cannot keep up to her. I don’t think any of us could keep up with her if she put her mind to it.
She is currently in her bed in the family room, resting, the boys are at Tiger Woods again and I am sitting here contentedly.
Great day so far.

Last night was haircut night.
Nan gave the boys their Christmas haircuts. They look great.
I am getting old. I now realize I think how my dad felt when I was making weird hair choices as a kid.
I think I might have driven him crazy. Oh well, that is part of being a kid and part of being a parent I suppose.
Then we tackled the puppy after dinner.
I have to admit, this time was much better than last.
The previous go Taffy would not sit still, the clippers wigged her out, and it was absolute trauma.
Not to mention the fact that John K. showed up near then end, and Taffy was so freaked, she pee’d right there on the spot.
Last night was a completely different experience.
We set the card table up in the kitchen with a chair.
I sat down and had the pup on the table standing but was somewhat holding her.
She handled the clippers no problem!
I mean, she didn’t LOVE them, but she allowed them and did not fuss too much.
It sure made the process a whole lot shorter.
And now we have a shorn puppy that looks much better.
Nan is getting her hair cut tonight at 5.
I suppose I should shave my head today and we can make it a clean sweep.

It would seem that every Christmas time some bug goes through our home.
This week, Jackson has been up sick in the night and last night was William’s turn.
Oh well, it is not like they are missing anything big or important this week in school.
It’s all a big, big party really isn’t it?
So, William is staying home today and chilling out.
Let the holidays begin!!

Well, here we go again.
Busy busy busy.
I am almost happy to get back to work on Mondays because of how busy we are on the weekends.
Well, almost but not quite really.
Nan is officially done her piano teaching for the Christmas break now. Last year she continued into the last week of school but the students were just not there if you know what I mean…
Tomorrow we have a couple stores to hit in the morning. Thankfully they are not big shopping stores so we might just avert the craziness
Tomorrow afternoon we head to St. Thomas to drop the puppy and Lins and Eric’s and then we are off to Cambridge for the McGrath Christmas. I am so looking forward to sitting around and chatting with family and having a great ol’ time.
We will come back later in the evening, pick the pup up and get in for the night.
Sunday morning we will be prepping some food for a potluck for lunch, getting off to Sunday School, where we will be putting the last minute touches on the Sunday School concert skit, worship service, then off to the potluch for part of the afternoon.
Then back to the church for the SS concert.
Phew!
Home to bed and back to work.
Fun fun fun!!!

I was talking with Chris and Eric this Sunday at church about the potential of getting a motorbike this next year and that I had been to the motorcycle show this past weekend with a friend.
Chris told me I needed to shave the goatee and go with a handlebar mustache….
I said no, I had done that once for a 70’s party and it was way TOO FUNNY to do for real.
Then they decided that a soul patch would be good.
Now, I am in a quandry…. If I get a cruiser bike (which is what I would ultimately like), do I stick with the goat, go handlebar, or the soul patch.
I know this is asking for trouble, but what are your thoughts?
Just keep in mind, that I do need to look decently presentable to my clients when I arrive onsite.

So, I purchased an elliptical machine yesterday.
Up until the weather had turned kind of cold as of late, I had been walking fairly consistently in an effort to become more healthy.
Since the cold, not so good.
I have considered an elliptical on and off for a couple of years now and finally took the plunge.
Man, what a workout. It is not the same as walking!
