Could be related to the fact that I am overweight.
I have been sleeping with a feather pillow and some mornings I wake up and it is a hard lump under my neck. I may have to try something different.
I wake up a lot in the night. I am trying not to complain, but boy o boy it is annoying. At least I get a lot of thinking done.

I wanted something different to go with the ink so I asked the artist Dane to make it look like it is cut in.
I am pretty stoked about the result.
It should look like it is cut in and hurts for all time.
Sweet.

I am sick with a cold. Blech…. I do not like being sick. It normally takes me a long time to recover from colds. boooooo!!!!
The snow is coming down outside and we are supposed to get up to 6 inches today. Will the insanity ever stop??????
I am so looking forward to spring. I am beginning to understand the feelings that snowbirds get every year. Yep, I am getting old.

Today is my last official day of work before my holidays. I am so excited. We are going to visit my sister in Delisle, Saskatchewan. Don’t ask me where it is… it is near Saskatoon. I am not even sure where that is.. It is out in the prairies somewhere
The point is that we are leaving and not coming back for 2 weeks. This is a huge event for my family. I have not taken many holidays this year. I have taken the odd afternoon off to golf or ride my bike, and the odd day here and there to daytrip with the family but this is my only true “vacation” for the year. I am so looking forward to it.
I have a little bit of work to take. Not too too much. I have been working my butt off to try to not take a great deal. I have to admit that I am a little nervous about what will await me when I come home. I have not taken 2 weeks away from the business consecutively ever… Yikes. But, I am sure it will be fine. I have a great bunch of clients that have for the most part, all encouraged me to have a great time with my family and have let me know that they can hold things for me until I get back.
So, it is 2 weeks of family time with my sister, my other sister, my parents, my aunt and my family. Should be an absolute blast. It has been 3 and a half years since I have seen my sister I think. Definitely time to remedy that.
So, it should be great.
That being said, I have been doing a lot of thinking and praying for our friends the Osmonds in Belleville. Just last week, their 5 year old daughter Delaney was diagnosed with Leukemia… brutal.
And their roller coaster ride in the last week has been unbelievable. Delaney in now back in Kingston and undergoing Chemo treatments. I just wish I could reach out and give them all a big big hug right now. I know that there are lots of people who are.
So, this Christmas I will be stoked about family time. I will also be thinking about my friends as they go through a very difficult time. I have a hard time imagining my sons in hospital going through chemo treatment. I will be praying for them a lot.
If you think of them, pray for them. For Delaney that she will be able to handle the chemo okay and it will allow her body to heal quickly. For Davin, her little brother, to be able to handle the stresses of not having mom and dad around as much for a bit. For Steve, the father, who as most fathers is trying to be the man of the house and be stalwart at time, for strength and reliance on God. And for Lisa, the mother, who I can only imagine is beside herself with concern for her daughter.
Thanks

I have been remiss in not blogging much lately.
Here are a few highlights.
I will try better…. honest.
Will’s is making progress with walking better. The chiropractor is only seeing him every 2 weeks now and wants Nan and I to let him go and be a kid.. thank goodness.
My bike is in the shop having the front fork seals redone. I did not particularly want to do this until next year, but oh well. Such is life. Once it is done, I should be good to ride for the rest of the season I think.
We were able to get some new furniture this last week on trade. Lovely new black leather set for the family room. very nice.
Taffy the dog continues to grow into our family more and more. She is adorable and loves nothing more than to just be with the family.
I installed with the help of my good friend Rich, a Small Business Server with Blackberry Enterprise Server on it last week. For those of you who know what that is, rejoice with me…. I have shared calendars and am consistently getting my mail!
Nan and I are going away for our 15th anniversary for a weekend to Stratford in a couple of weeks.
My wife is the best.
Work has been crazy with thinking of new code and trying to drive more business through the door.
My dad is now retired! Actually, he is on vacation for the next 4 weeks technically and then he is retired, but he is lovin’ it.. I can’t say I blame him.
I am fighting a sinus infection. Most of the infection is gone I think but my left ear is still blocked and I have a hard time hearing out of it. So, if I twist around when I am talking to you, it is because I am just trying to hear you better.
Our annual meeting at the church is tonight.
I think that is it. It’s enough though.

Will went to the doctor the other day to see about what is going on with his heel.
The doctor was not really pleased with the progress that has been made and is referring Will to a Pediatric Orthopedist? I think that’s who it is. We are also going to look into having Will see a chiropractor.
I will post more as we hear.

Will has been having a hard time with his foot. For about 2 months now, he has had a bad limp. Nan had him to the doctor and we were told that he had some “trauma to his heel”. I am not sure what that means.
Now we have the issue that Will has been walking on the side of his foot to favour his heel. He has gotten to the point where it is almost like he has forgotten how to walk correctly. It is really bizarre….
It tends to get a bit better and the regress very quickly. We are going to try to get him into the doctor again this week. I am not convinced that all is right with his foot. Who knows?
I am no doctor, I am just a concerned dad with a boy that is in pain. That sucks.
If you think of him, pray that we can get it sorted out. He is missing a lot of fun things that he cannot do right now like jump on the trampoline in the backyard and run around with his friends.

on two points actually..
William is definitely feeling better. Jackson has been fine for a couple of days now. Nan is at this point uncertain whether she is sick or not. The next couple of hours should tell all I would think. We really did take it easy yesterday for the most part. Nan went out to breakfast with some friends but after that we were in for the day. We enjoyed a nice relaxing afternoon and evening. The weather was so mild that we decided to barbecue some of our new beef. I will need to thank Eric this morning at church for convincing us to buy it. It was so nice. We got to try out a new game that we were given as a gift this year. Cranium Family Edition. Great game.
On the second front, I purchased an elliptical exerciser a couple of weeks ago.
Here it is snuggled nicely into the basement.
I was able to purchase a small little tv for $70 to help motivate me to stay on it when I am getting my exercise.

I have been slowly making progress on the amount of time I can spend on it. I hate to admit it, but the first day on it was an absolute killer!
I have to say that persistence does pay off!
I am successfully able to go 13 minutes straight on it now!
woo hoo!
That is quite an accomplishment for an old tub o’ lard like meself.
But slow and sure wins the battle.

It would seem that every Christmas time some bug goes through our home.
This week, Jackson has been up sick in the night and last night was William’s turn.
Oh well, it is not like they are missing anything big or important this week in school.
It’s all a big, big party really isn’t it?
So, William is staying home today and chilling out.
Let the holidays begin!!

So, I purchased an elliptical machine yesterday.
Up until the weather had turned kind of cold as of late, I had been walking fairly consistently in an effort to become more healthy.
Since the cold, not so good.
I have considered an elliptical on and off for a couple of years now and finally took the plunge.
Man, what a workout. It is not the same as walking!
