Jacks is feeling better. I am pretty sure he will be returning to school tomorrow.
I am not really feeling a whole lot better yet. My throat is sore and I am lethargic.
Well, sometimes I am lethargic anyways….
I am sick.
Even worse, Jackson is sick as well.
We went to church yesterday morning, taught Sunday School, then came home.
We pretty much sat on the couch the whole day feeling blechy…
Blech.
We did get to watch the Grey Cup though. That was good. Saskatchewan beat Winnipeg. Good game. It was a good thing that Kevin Glenn was out. I honestly believe that Winnipeg would have won with their big quarterback on the field.
William has been fighting an absolutely NASTY cough this week.
When he gets a cough, he can’t stop. Friday night, he was coughing so much that he was doubled over because his stomach was hurting… Poor little gaffer.
He has been desperately trying to get better.. Early this week we set a date up with our friends the Koehlers to go and see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the theatre today with their family. This is kind of the last hurrah for Will’s birthday. On Thursday we put it out there that Will might not be able to go if he was still sick and coughing.
He went to bed early last night of his own volition simply to try to get better. I think he will be alright to go this afternoon. I really hope so. He will be completely bummed if he isn’t.
Will came home sick from school today.
Blech…
Jack was REALLY sick this weekend. He stayed up way too late at Will’s sleepover and got up way too early Saturday morning.
So, by Saturday night he was really under the weather. Threw up during the night once and had a blistering fever on Sunday. Nan stayed home from church with him and he slept most of the morning away. We had the whole family over for Will’s birthday on Sunday too.
Jacks came down and sat on the couch between Grandpa Thompson and Grandma Hutchison for a while looking completely out of his gourd..
Poor little guy.
He stayed home from school today and is definitely feeling better. The kid ate almost two bowls full of pasta for dinner! Wow, got yer appetite back or what dude?

I am sitting on the couch in the livingroom right now typing this listening to him. He is singing his heart out in his bed. He is singing the song Above All by Michael W. Smith.
I am so proud of that kid.
Last night, Nan and I, Eric and Lindsay travelled to Cambridge to Phil and Heather’s for the first annual Games Night Mega Challenge! We had a great time. In the end, Lindsay won the coveted Bunny Cup. Score!
So, last night was the night that the timechange was happening. And we lost an hour of sleep right? During the evening I had a pop and a half. Dr. Pepper and half of a Pepsi. We arrived home around 12:30 (new time) and promptly fell into bed exhausted.
Do you think I could sleep? NO stinkin’ way! I am relatively sure that I saw every half hour increment on the clock last night. Ridiculous. I can drink coffee and it does not seem to bother me much at all, but one and a half sodas and I am done?
Oi vey! I really am not liking getting old. If I have pizza after 8 pm I can’t sleep well.
I soon will be relegated to having bowls full of porridge and a nightcap of Ovaltine…
Now I am sick. 
I had successfully dodged the bullet thus far this year as the rest of the family have been suffering from either coughing, sneezing, dripping or generally feeling lousy for the last month or so.
Alas, it has happened. Yesterday I woke up with that all too familiar tickle in my throat which has now developed to the sore throat, running nose, achy all around crappy feel… Nice!
So, sitting on the couch, I have Vicks Vapo-Rub all over my now garbage t-shirt and will recuperate.
I was told recently that I should drink GREEN TEA. It is supposed to have lots of good benefits.
I was even told that it would help me lose weight!
Man, I even heard if I drink 400 cups a day for 400 years, I can look like this 
How about that! Only 145,998 days to go!
We went to visit Mom and Dad Britton this weekend. Great times.
While there, we drove up to the ol’ cheese factory and bought some fresh cheese curds. Yum….
Throughout the weekend, we munched happily away and had a delightful time just hanging out and relaxing.
Sunday afternoon we made our way home and arrived safe and sound. The thing with going to Mom and Dad’s is that I alway eat way more than I need to. I know I tend to overeat anyway, but this is something I am trying to rectify. Anyhow, we are sitting around the dinner table and having cereal last night. My stomach did not quite feel right.
So, I ended up by 7 o’clock laying on the couch curled up into a large ball in excruciating pain! I took some ibuprofen and went to bed. Nope. I was up every 30 minutes with the crap!
So, at 1:15 am I decided enough is enough and I am going to Emergency. I bundle up, go to the bank (need money for parking), go to emerg, see the triage nurse, get into an emerg bed in about 30 minutes. cool. Then the waiting begins. An hour and three quarters later, the doctor sees me.
Stupid, the pains went away on my way to the hospital. I thought to myself, should I just go home and not worry about it? No, I should go have it checked out.
The doc said my ecg is pristine and my heart is golden
He did not know what to say it might have been. When I told him about the cheese curds he laughed. Everyone needs some humour at 3:30 am right?
So, back home to bed.
I still don’t know what did it, but I think I am going to be a little leery of cheese curds for a bit..
So, the boys have been sick most of the week. Poor Will went back to school Thursday morning and was sick to his stomach within the first hour!
I think that we are getting there. Jacks is still a little under the weather, but he is getting there. And then lo and behold right after I taught Sunday School this morning… I started feeling crappy again. Oh man! Are we ever gonna feel better as a family?
I sure hope so. I feel like we have been missing out on most of our life for the last few weeks.
