Well, I think we might be getting there…
Taffy is starting to settle in nicely into our family.
This morning, Nan got up at 6:15 to put her out and do her reading. I followed at around 6:30.
She is such a funny little thing. When you come down the stairs she is so excited to see you! It is almost like she shakes ALL over!
She seems to be getting the hang of using the washroom outside and has not had too many mishaps as of late.
Now that we are starting to trust her a little more, we have allowed her out of the office and into the family room.
This morning, Nan and I were able to sit and chat about things while the puppy lie on the floor playing with a toy or two.
Hopefully by Christmas time she will not require as much constant watching.

Taffy continues to settle in. She sure does go to the bathroom a lot though!
I bought her a different crate today. We were given one by someone but it was a plastic crate and she could not easily see out of it. I bought a wire one today and she likes it enough that she just crawled in and is having a little nap
Mommy and the boys are off to AWANA and I am working in the office this evening.
Woohoo! Breakfast with my friend Rich tomorrow, quick run out to Teen Challenge to pick up a paper I left there, then back to the office to work, work work!
The long weekend is coming up and there is lots to do!

Well, here she is.
This is when Jacks first got his hands on here

Jacks and Will enjoying the pickup time.

In the car settling down on the way home.

What a pretty little thing.

Relaxing against William’s leg and getting used to us people..

It was spitting out this morning, but Jacks was a trooper and took her out…

Having a little time with the poochie before breakfast.

Boy, all that interaction sure tires a girl out!

We were able to surprise Jackson and William today with the fact that we were going to get Taffy from the kennel a day early.
When the boys were dismissed from school today Nan and I were there to pick them up and drive them home. William had participated in a birthday party for his teacher today and had been finishing off a 2 litre bottle of orange crush and had spilled some on his shirt (can you say sugar high????)
When we got into the car, I said something about being ready for picking the pup up tomorrow. Jackson replied in the affirmative that he was all set for tomorrow. Then I asked if he would prefer to pick her up today…
He was dumbfounded and really could not say a whole lot. It was kind of neat. Then he really got excited!
So, we came home, Will changed his shirt and we took off for Blyth. Nan stayed at home because she was teaching piano this aft.
We got there at 10 to 5 and were out of there by 5:05. Back home by 6:20 with a stop at Petcetera for a dog toy and dog shampoo.
Nan was able to settle her in for a few minutes then had to head out to teach again. Mondays are one of her busiest days.
The boys and I ate, then did some homework and played for a bit with Taffy.
When Nan got home tonight from teaching, we gave her a bath in the kitchen sink. She is so tiny…
We did not get any pictures of this, but next time we will.
I will post some pictures tomorrow hopefully.
If I get enough sleep tonight….
We will see.

Jack and I figured out today at lunch how long it is until we leave to go pick Taffy up!
Can you tell that we are excited?

So Jackson, crawls up into my lap the other yesterday morning and says..
Dad, do you know what day it is? September 5th!!!
That means it’s less than a month till we bring Taffy home!
This kid is absolutely pumped. I am so happy that we seemed to have found the thing that makes him tick. I am really looking forward to working with him on training the puppy and “making” her Jack’s.
I am sure that I will have a few sleepless nights at first when she whines after being left all alone in her crate but she will get used to it. I will NOT give in…
Remind of that will you when my son comes in to me in tears because his beloved pet is whining in the middle of the night.
Thanks.

Question: what do you get when you buy one of these?

Answer: One of these……

Yup, we did it.. Welcome TAFFY to the Britton family.
She is a wonderful little Bichon Frise / Shih Tzu cross that was born August 4th, and will come home to London on approximately October 4th. She is a cutie! She loves to snuggle and Jackson is over the moon!
